Simple Syllabus

A Really Simple Syllabus Creation Tool

Simple Syllabus is a centralized, template-driven syllabus management system. It enables instructors to quickly personalize digital syllabi.

Introduction:

Simple Syllabus was selected by a Collegewide committee as the replacement to the Blue Wave Online Syllabus Builder. This new system will provide a consistent experience for our students, an easy to use creation tool for our instructors, and a robust search and reporting feature for supervisors and administration - all while enabling us to meet the requirements of the state.

With the help of an incredibly supportive committee, we have created a top-level template that will auto-populate information that most instructors want and need within their syllabi. Then, we took it a step further to provide opportunity to instructors to add their own components, reorder the syllabi as it makes sense for their courses, and choose which content is available publicly beyond those which are required.

Although instructors can begin exploration with the tool beginning in the Summer and Fall 2024 terms, the first official term where all instructors should plan to use Simple Syllabus to create their syllabi, will be the Spring 2025 term. Read below for details on access, training, and support when using Simple Syllabus.
