New Studio Features

New Library Layout

The new Studio Library layout introduces a streamlined navigation menu, clearly separating personal media, shared content, and course collections. The left-side navigation panel offers quick access to different media categories, allowing faculty to find their resources more efficiently. The layout reduces the time spent navigating between sections and provides a clearer overview of stored content.

View Options

Faculty can switch between a grid view and a list view for more efficient browsing. The grid view displays media thumbnails for a visual overview as we are used to, while the new list view provides detailed metadata such as video length, date added, and caption status. This flexibility allows faculty to manage content more effectively based on their browsing preferences.

Advanced Filtering

New filters make it easier to locate content by:

  • Captioning status: Identify which videos are accessible for all students, improving accessibility.

  • Media types: Distinguish between video, audio, and image files for better content organization.

  • Tags: Group related content for thematic lessons and collaborative projects.

  • Date ranges: Easily locate the most recently uploaded content or older media archives.

These options simplify media retrieval and help faculty prepare instructional materials more effectively.

You can filter by media types like Studio recordings, Zoom uploads, YouTube, or Vimeo [1], by tags [2], captioned or uncaptioned videos [3], or a date range of after [4] or before [5] a certain date.

Bulk Action Tool

The new bulk action tool enables faculty to select multiple media items at once, streamlining content management tasks. With this feature, users can:

  • Move multiple videos to collections: Organize content by topic or course.

  • Delete videos: Remove outdated or irrelevant media more efficiently.

  • Add tags: Enhance content discoverability and streamline content categorization.

This feature significantly reduces the time spent managing media libraries, allowing faculty to focus on instructional planning.

To move, delete, or add tags, click the checkbox next to each video [1]. Click the Options icon [2] and then choose to Select All videos [3], Move to [4], Add Tags [5], or Delete [6].

Improved Content Search

The enhanced content search functionality allows faculty to search by video title, description, tags, and even captioned text. This deeper search capability ensures that faculty can locate specific instructional materials faster, even within larger media libraries.

New Toggle Feature

A newly added toggle allows faculty to switch between personal media, shared content, and course collections instantly. This dynamic control minimizes the number of clicks required, helping faculty quickly transition between different content categories during course preparation.

This is how you toggle the New Studio feature!
