Webex Update Brings New Features and Layout
New! The Webex Suite Meeting Platform
The new Webex Suite meeting platform was recently enabled for all FSCJ users, bringing new features and an improved user interface. This new platform merges the Webex App with Webex Meetings into a single, unified application while introducing improvements to your experience.
This update relocates the menu options to make them more contextual, allows better management of panels for easier access, and gives you the ability to choose what to share on your screen.

Polling and Q&A Get Major Upgrade!
Slido is replacing native Webex polling and Q&A. Slido offers powerful enhancements with robust capabilities and real-time insights into audience engagement. More information on Slido and added benefits can be found here.
Where’s the Menu Bar?
Menu bar settings are now more contextual and distributed across the meeting under Audio Options, Video Options, Share, and More Options. For example, access Audio Options from the drop-down in Mute.
WebEx Hide/Show Video View
If the video view control window is unavailable during a screenshare, it may be ‘hidden’. The ‘show video view’ button indicates its hidden.
The video view control is visible when it is not hidden.
Chat is Now More Fun and Engaging
Chat is getting an upgrade and mirrors the Webex App messaging experience. Meeting participants can engage by responding in threads, adding files, using markdowns, reactions or GIFs. Need a refresher? Check out this article.
Need to Manage Participants?
Go to More options in the meeting controls to access meeting options and enable features like breakout sessions and whiteboarding.
With the updates, some of the more common actions may now be in a different place. To assist you in managing participants, view the following list of new actions and where the buttons are now located.
Change Role > Make Presenter
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Make presenter. See Make someone a presenter
Change Role > Make Host
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Make host. See Make someone else the meeting host
Change Role > Make Cohost
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Make cohost. See Add or remove a cohost from a meeting
Allow to Annotate
When you share content during a meeting, at the top of the screen, select More sharing options > Annotation privileges. See Mark up a shared screen with annotations
Assign Privileges
In the meeting controls, click More options > Meeting options. See Set meeting options as a host or cohost
Mute
In the Participants panel, hover over the participant's name and click Mute. See Mute or unmute other people in a meeting
Unmute
In the Participants panel, click Unmute next to the participant's name. See Mute or unmute other people in a meeting
Mute All
In the Participants panel, click Mute all. See Mute or unmute other people in a meeting
Unmute All
In the Participants panel, click Unmute all. See Mute or unmute other people in a meeting
Lower Hand
In the Participants panel, click Lower hand next to the participant's name. See See who has their hand raised in a meeting
Lower All Hands
In the Participants panel, right-click any participant's name (or hover over any participant's name and select More options) and click Lower all hands. See See who has their hand raised in a meeting
Stop Video
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Stop video. See Turn off a participant's video
Chat
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Chat directly. See Chat in a meeting or breakout session
Edit Display Name

Move to Lobby
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Move to lobby. See Move participants to the lobby during a meeting
Move to Stage
Drag the participant's thumbnail video to the stage or, in the participant's thumbnail video, click More options > Move to stage. See Move participants to the stage
Expel
In the Participants panel, right-click the participant's name (or hover over their name and click More options ) and click Expel. See Remove someone from a meeting
View my People Insights profile
Anywhere in the app, hover over someone's profile picture and click View people insights profile. See View people insights profiles
Download the Webex Application Instead of the Browser
All FSCJ laptops and workstations should have the Webex Desktop App and Webex Outlook Scheduler installed. It is strongly advised to use the Webex Desktop App to utilize the full functionality of Webex instead of utilizing the Webex Meetings web app (browser plug-in) due to multiple plug-in limitations. The Webex Meetings web app lets users join from any Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari browser.
These limitations include, but are not limited to:
Presenters can’t pass keyboard and mouse control to attendees who join using the Meetings web app.
You can’t request control when a user is sharing from the Meetings web app.
The web app supports content sharing only in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge 77.0.235.20 and later.
To enable content sharing in Chrome version 71 or earlier, install the Webex app and Webex Content Sharing extension.
The Meetings web app doesn't have a whiteboard panel. Participants who use the web app can't see whiteboards that others share during Meetings, Events (classic), Webinars, and Training sessions.
The web app supports the “Call using computer” audio option, only on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
To enable the full “Call using computer” experience, disable the “block websites from automatically playing sound” option in Firefox.
The web app supports sending and receiving video on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
The web app doesn't support Virtual backgrounds.
Grid View in the web app supports up to six videos, with a maximum resolution of 180p.
Call using computer not supported when the host account has Webex video disabled.
Call using computer isn’t supported in meetings using the “Use VoIP Only” conference type.
Meeting Options cannot be managed from within the web app.
